War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity
Russian forces in Ukraine have committed and continue to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied regions of Ukraine, in violation of international law and basic human decency. Russian crimes in Ukraine constitute genocide and ethnic cleansing, with Russia’s stated war aims including the elimination of Ukrainians as a separate country, language, culture, and people.

Overview
The Ukrainian government announced that it had $40 million in corrupt spending related to the acquisition of mortar rounds, as part of Ukraine’s ongoing corruption crackdown.
According to an unnamed Western official cited by the Telegraph, Russian military spending has ballooned to 40% of GDP. This claim is highly implausible, bordering on the absurd. For comparison, American military spending was also 40% in 1944, when 12,000,000 men (out of a population identical to modern day Russia) were under arms engaged in a global, two-theatre total war.
