War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity
Russian forces in Ukraine have committed and continue to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied regions of Ukraine, in violation of international law and basic human decency. Russian crimes in Ukraine constitute genocide and ethnic cleansing, with Russia’s stated war aims including the elimination of Ukrainians as a separate country, language, culture, and people.

Overview
Ukrainian drones struck a Russian oil depot in Bryansk Oblast as well as an oil refinery in Ryazan, both located in western Russia. Ukraine has begun launching attacks on Russia’s petroleum industry in response to repeated long-range strikes on Ukrainian military and civilian infrastructure.
The European Union indicated its intention to raise annual continental shell production to at least 1.3 million by the end of the year. Previous attempts to manufacture large amounts of shells for Ukraine failed, with Europe lagging far behind its original estimates.
