War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity
Russian forces in Ukraine have committed and continue to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied regions of Ukraine, in violation of international law and basic human decency. Russian crimes in Ukraine constitute genocide and ethnic cleansing, with Russia’s stated war aims including the elimination of Ukrainians as a separate country, language, culture, and people.
No especially notable atrocities reported today.
Overview
Russian forces continue to launch drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, with the vast majority of the projectiles once again downed by Ukrainian air defenses. The marked success of Ukraine’s defenses thus far indicate a much-increased interception rate and a decreased Russian ability to saturate air defenses, likely reducing any potential impact of this or future Terror Bombing campaigns barring the development of new tactics or weapons.
Ukrainian forces reportedly also launched drones at Russia, with dozens claimed as downed. However, sources from both sides indicated that at least one bomber stationed at Morozovsk Airbase in Rostov Oblast was damaged.
Ukrainian-affiliated Russian Volunteer Corps units reportedly continue to make cross-border raids into Russian territory, though this border skirmishing continues to be minimal.
