War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity
Russian forces in Ukraine have committed and continue to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied regions of Ukraine, in violation of international law and basic human decency. Russian crimes in Ukraine constitute genocide and ethnic cleansing, with Russia’s stated war aims including the elimination of Ukrainians as a separate country, language, culture, and people.

Overview
Kyiv experienced the longest, largest air attack since the end of the first Russian Terror Bombing campaign over half a year ago, with an estimated 75 Shahed drones (including a new black variant that is supposedly harder to detect) and a missile targeting the capital over a period of six hours. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted almost all of the drones, with the interception rate so successful that it is not fully clear what in the city was being targeted. This likely marks the beginning of the second Russian Terror Bombing Campaign.
In what is almost certainly not coincidence, the attack also took place on Holodomor Memorial Day, a day of remembrance honoring the millions of Ukrainians who were purposefully starved to death by the Soviet Union under Stalin in 1932 and 1933.
Western nations have reportedly agreed to “transfer” Ukraine warships in an effort to protect the western Black Sea grain corridor established after Russia pulled out of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. It is unclear whether this means that Ukraine will be gifted warships or whether Western ships will act as convoy escorts.
