War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity
Russian forces in Ukraine have committed and continue to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity in the occupied regions of Ukraine, in violation of international law and basic human decency. Russian crimes in Ukraine constitute genocide and ethnic cleansing, with Russia’s stated war aims including the elimination of Ukrainians as a separate country, language, culture, and people.
No especially notable atrocities reported today.
Overview
Russian forces launched another large Terror Bombing attack on Ukraine, including around three dozen drones and one hundred missiles, with most of both reportedly intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses.
Turkey announced that it would not allow two minesweepers recently gifted to Ukraine by Britain to transit the Bosporus, in line with its duties under the Montreux Convention governing use of the Strait in wartime.
Ukrainian shelling reportedly targeted a Russian hotel where occupation officials were meeting with some Russian milbloggers/journalists, with at least one milblogger reportedly killed (though there is no indication as to who).
